One of the sights we were determined to see in London was the Globe theater, famous for being where Shakespeare produced most of his plays. While we knew that what we would see would be a reconstruction, the original burned down a long long time ago, we didn't realize that there are/were other theaters of the same name. Apparently, this is round about the 5th Globe theater in London. It is designed to look like the one from Shakespeare's day but with some helpful modernization. We had been hoping to see a show there but the shows were sold out for our whole stay, so we just looked from the outside and imagined the excitement of watching Taming of the Shrew opening night.
The Globe theater sits right on the Thames. It is very picturesque looking across the river at it. It also sits between two cool bridges so that if you are walking you can come by one and leave by the other to get some excellent views of London 
The Millennial Bridge, affectionately (or perhaps not so) called the wobbly bridge, was built as you might guess to celebrate the year 2000. Unfortunately, due to so design shortcomings the pedestrian traffic caused the bridge to sway vigorously. They closed the bridge in the afternoon of opening day and spent 2 years re-engineering it so it wouldn't wobble. I don't think it was anywhere near as dramatic as the Tacoma narrows bridge but that's what I'm imagining.
The wind off the river was a nice break from the warm day and miles of walking.
