The first stop in Europe was
Pisa. We had a 3 hour wait between when we got through customs at the airport and when we would talk the bus to the hotel for the conference, where sessions would start that evening. Obviously the correct course of action was to high tail it over to see the leaning tower.
Summary: Pisa must have an excellent PR manager because I didn't really think it was that impressive and that is the only thing of interest in that town.
The tower is actually the bell tower for this church.
The church had some very nice inlay on the walls that made it look pretty
But despite all the beauty, someone knocked the tower over.
I had no idea the tower was part of a church. A really big church. Was nothing else leaning?
ReplyDeleteThey were doing renovations on the church because the whole area has weak foundations. Apparently inside the church the floor isn't level at all.
