Acoustic night

One of the activities the my congregation puts on every year is the acoustic night. Along with the yearly Halloween party, it is the most popular activity of the year. We have many many very talented individuals who perform. This trio was probably the best performance because they really interacted well with the audience. Jen tried for a few years to make it on Broadway, Ian tours doing guitar performances, and Nathan used to be the drummer in a metal band. Possibly my favorite part of their song was watching Nathan's heavy metal training come through as he was playing the tambourine, box drum, and little egg shaker.

This kid is getting his masters in guitar performance. His song was very different from anything else performed that night but even to my very very untrained ear it was much more technical and musically impressive.

This is Ian performing on his own, always a fun act.

Another highlight is always the dessert contest. This year the theme was peach. Secretly I got to be part of the judging committee. As part of my judging responsibilities, I needed to sample each dessert. They were delicious!
