Also leftover from before Christmas: the School of Medicine "Basic Science" Holiday party. The School of Medicine is used to doing fancy things for fancy people; Scientists are used to doing not fancy things. Put them both together and you get an interesting mix. The School of Medicine threw the first party for scientists last year, so this year when it came around everyone was excited about the big fancy party. There was good food and even live music (What is classier than a harpist?). We even had it in one of the non-research buildings with a giant mural of the history of medicine. This year there wasn't a photo booth so we didn't get any ridiculous pictures with crazy props, but there was a pretty delicious chocolate moose desert that made up for it.
